    The Technical Writer is primarily responsible for designing, writing, revising and/or the editing of documentation related to Mortgage Banking Application Development Infrastructure, Security, Applications, Project Management, Process Flow Diagrams, and Programming Methodologies. (i.e., application papers, product descriptions, catalogs, manuals/guides, brochures, product articles, etc.) for users, either technical or non-technical. Responsible for writing, editing, and revisions of copy and documentation for various medium, technical and customer/end-user activities. Retrieve, organize, analyze and synthesize complex subject matter and transform it into easy-to-understand information for specific audiences. Employ various authoring and desktop publishing software tools to produce finished products that may include printed or electronic publications and integrated online copy.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or BA in English, journalism, technical writing or similar discipline.
    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT technical writing role (Process Flow documents, IT Security documentation, Programming (SDLC) Documentation, Technical Requirements Documents, etc.), with progressive levels of experience preferred to include the authoring or publishing of user and/or technical documents.
    Knowledge of banking operations and structure. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Proficient with desktop publishing tools.
    Experience with Agile software development a plus. Banking or financial services experience is a plus
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to balance multiple and changing priorities

    Skills and Capabilities
    Compose technical information into clear, concise, print/PDF documentation and online help content for both technical and non-technical audiences according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
    Reviews published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
    Plans, designs, researches, writes and edits a range of new and existing documents.
    Organizes materials and create a broad range of technical publications for both hardware and software, according to established standards; develops, writes, edits, and maintains operational and technical materials (e.g. user manuals, quick reference guides, training manuals, release notes, workflow diagrams, reference guides, job aides, support documentation, etc.) and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
    Creates documentation written in a manner which can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences and may include process flows, diagrams and narratives.
    Analyzes audience, user tasks and information needs, and translates these into information product content plans; interfaces with technical staff, end-users and management to document operational processes, system modifications, reference materials, memorandums, etc.
    Manages documentation projects, starting from initial planning through writing and editing, reviewing and revising, indexing, printing, production and delivery to client.
    Researches and evaluate new documentation tools and methods; document and improve documentation processes.
    Participates in all phases of the Project Management LifeCycle (PMLC) to determine necessary documents that are needed prior to implementation of project deliverables. Works with management to establish documentation goals, retention procedures, strategies and plans.
    Standardizes documentation among the different Mortgage Banking Application Development support areas.
    Prepares, reviews, revises, and maintains technical documents.
    Responsible for planning, organizing, and writing product and service related announcements, procedure manuals and reference documents for internal and external systems and processes.
    Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
